Tuesday got off to another lovely start, with a walk round the local farm tracks. It was great to see the farmer out in his tractor preparing fo the next set of crops, with the birds circling for whatever treats he uncovered for them…

When we returned it was time to load the car for a couple of days away in Southwell, staying with family and delivering some wood to my Father-in-Law for his carpentry projects.
When we arrived we had a nice lunch, then went for a walk up the Southwell Nature Trail, which follows the route of a disused railway line that finally ended in 1965 after over 100-years of service. There are still some remnants of its past live remaining though, which is great if you’re a bit of a railway buff like me. This is the remains of Kirklington Station platform and a road bridge that crossed the railway nearby.
The rest of the day was spent preparing a piece of Elm for a woodworking project, then dinner and relaxing before a busy Wednesday!
